Our Mission, Core Values and Beliefs
Our Mission
To be a light in a dark world, helping young adults find their way to God through a relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our Core Values
LOVE: The greatest commandment is that we would love God wholeheartedly and love others as ourselves. So we work daily to simply love God and others, and teach others to do the same. Therefore we don’t judge or condemn people. Our job is to work only on ourselves while loving, blessing, serving, and praying for others.
JOY: The joy of the Lord is our strength. We think God has a wonderful sense of humor, and so we believe in laughter… and lots of it.
COMMUNITY: We are relational. Humans were created to be in community. We are a part of blessing and serving our communities- where we live, work, learn, and play as well as the greater global community. We are action oriented, walking the walk we talk.
RESPECT: We operate out of the highest place of respect- for God, and for others and for ourselves. Everything we do flows out of treating others, even those with differing views, with our highest respect and with humility.
CREATIVITY: We celebrate and worship a creative God, and work to open ourselves to the creativity he wants to give birth to in each of us. Because of this we also place a high value on the beauty of diversity.
STEWARDSHIP: We are called to be excellent stewards – of our bodies, our minds, our hearts, our time, our talents, our finances, our communities, our environment, and our planet. We also believe to be an excellent steward is to be a balanced one.
RELEVANCE: Everything we do is centered around weaving God’s teachings into everyday life in practical ways.
Our Beliefs
About God
~We believe that God is absolute Love and divine Truth. (1 John 4:8)
~That God is amazing, incredible, infinite, all knowing, and all powerful. He is the author of life. He is beyond all compare and beyond anything we can ask or imagine… and yet he invites us into intimate relationship with Him. (Genesis 1)
~That we are created by God, for God, and are meant to be in relationship with God. To be apart from Him is to be cut off from our very purpose in life and our core selves. (Zephaniah 3:17; 1 John 3:1)
~That God exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
About People
~We believe that each person is created uniquely by God, is loved by God, and has been given a unique set of gifts and talents to be used by Him for His purposes.
~That we will find deep meaning and joy in life when we are walking in relationship with God. We were created to do good works that he has prepared in advance for us to do.
~That even though man was created by God and intended to be in a close loving relationship with Him, we were created with free will that God will never take away from us.
~That we have fallen away from God because of our sin. It is our rebellious, prideful nature that causes us to try to live apart from God in order to run our own lives our own way. As long as we do this, we will endure many unnecessary pains, sorrows and struggles in life, because we are cut off from what we were created for.
About Jesus
~We believe that Jesus is the light of the world and the embodiment of God. He came to us and lived with us to reveal God’s true nature. All authority under heaven and earth has been given to ~Him. (Matthew 28)
~That Jesus died for our sins and rose from the dead in order to provide a bridge of grace to reconnect us with God. The resurrection actually happened as an event in history.
~That the grace of God is freely given to ALL who choose to place their faith in Christ. He is Savior, Lord and Messiah to all who choose to follow him.
~That attempting to earn a pathway to God through penance or good deeds is futile because it is not about what we do, but rather about accepting what Jesus has already done for us. (Ephesians 2:8,9)
~That Jesus came for way more than salvation: He came that we might live life abundantly. (John 10:10)
~That obedience is the pathway to a deeper, fuller life in Christ. It is how God measures what is in our hearts. (James 2:17 and 1 John 2:5)
About The Holy Spirit
~We believe that when we accept Christ, we receive the Holy Spirit as a part of God that comes to reside in our hearts. (Galatians 4:6)
~That the Holy Spirit is God’s power living in us, guiding us into all truth, comforting us, loving us, teaching us, inspiring us, caring for us, healing us, and transforming us from the inside out.
~We believe in the fruits of the spirit. The more we surrender to his work in us, the more we will experience abundant love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self control. (Galatians 6)
About The Bible
~We believe that the Bible is the holy inspired word of God. It is correct in the principles it teaches.
~That God has infused His power into the word of scripture as a gift to humanity. (John 1:1; Hebrews 4:12)
~That the bible is filled with timeless truths that are fully relevant to our lives today.
~That by interweaving our lives with scripture we gain access to amazing spiritual power for healing and transformation. (Isaiah 55:11; Hebrews 4:12)
