In a world full of distractions and brokenness, our purpose is to help young adults grow in faith, so they can thrive in life. The years of 18-30 is a crucial and vulnerable decade for every young adult transitioning into adulthood.
We walk beside you on your journey, bringing faith, hope, prayers, and love while you discover who you were created to be. We do this by showing you how to find an eternally full life in Christ.
Jesus says, “The thief comes to kill, steal, and destroy- but I have come that you will have life to the full.” (John 10:10). Did you catch that? He wants all people, all of his followers to experience the Fullness of LIFE!
He invented JOY, and he wants you to have it! The world offers up many things that want to take that away.
Jesus boils it down to this, “Love God with all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love others as we love ourselves.” (Matthew 22: 37-39). Even though that seems simple enough, we find doing this well is a lifetime journey and a team sport!
We learn how to love God, ourselves, and others well. We do this in a healthy, well-balanced way through a community that includes teachers, friends, coaches, and mentors. This community is called the body of Christ, which help us grow into our new identity in Christ and understand our life purpose.
We want to see lives transformed for God’s Kingdom, on earth, in Charleston, and beyond as it is in heaven.
At Sea Turtle Ministries, we provide a Christ-centered community for college students and young adults (ages 18-30) that helps them intimately know Jesus and grow into fullness of life (John 10:10). The hallmark of our approach is to create authentic community, where it’s safe to be our messy, work-in-progress selves, and grow in faith along with others.
We want to train and equip leaders to be disciples who are disciple-makers. To accomplish all of the above, we offer a number of different programs.
We equip, train, and encourage college students and young adults, to be leaders in the church and in our community. We offer multiple ways for young adults to step into leadership roles.
We believe that mentorship is important for all who follow Jesus, whether you are a new believer, seasoned Christian, or are in a leadership role in the body of Christ. In order to effectively pour into others, you need to be poured into.
How My LIFE-Group Changed My Life.
I joined the sea turtle co-ed LIFE group almost two months ago. I was praying about a small group to join and when the small group opened, I thought it was a good opportunity to build community with people my age who loved the Lord. My time of diving deep into the Word with like-minded people has grown my desire to learn the word for myself.
This group has also been an answer to a prayer that I have had for a while. Since moving to South Carolina 5 years ago, I haven’t had a good community that was growing in the Lord. This group gives me a chance to pour into others as they also pour into me and that has been an answer to prayer for me.
I think life groups are just that, a place to get poured into and be challenged in the Lord. I think groups like these help young adults find community in a city where it might be hard to find others who love God.
